I've been building since I was old enough to swing a hammer. As a wee lad, my father, Chip, started me off with just a small plastic tool box full of Craftsman screw drivers and a few wrenches, to help me build my very first project - a wooden toolbox to earn my woodworking badge for the Boy Scouts... and I've never looked back. Nor did I ever get rid of those tools - still have them after 20+ years!

For as long as I can remember, Chip could do anything. So it's only natural that I paid close attention and became the craftsman I am today because of it. The old saying "measure twice, cut once" haunts my dreams...thanks Dad. But it's handy.

Beyond my passion for woodwork, I love my family, my pets, any sort of competition, and everything about the outdoors - hiking, fishing, boating, camping, bonfires, cooking meals over an open fire. Everything. When I am not tinkering away in my workshop, I'm usually at my cabin in the Northwoods enjoying the outdoors, and coming up with my next big idea.

And, this gorgeous gal is always helping me out, and taking BEAUTIFUL photos of everything you see on this site! Check her out at @jilltiongcophotography

... or at least that's what I would say at a woodworker anonymous meeting. I assume these don't exist.

Anywho...What's DMH woodwork you ask? Well, as you may have guessed it, we love wood. Not in a weird way, but in a way that an architect loves buildings, an artist loves paintings, or a crazy cat lady loves herds of felines pooping in her house. Ok, maybe it is in a little bit of a weird way. But that’s what makes it special.

Living it up in Chicago, IL - designing and building custom woodwork for whatever you can dream up is our jam. And in the world of Pinterest, Instagram, MTV Cribs, or whatever else you're into - it’s easier than ever to come up with some pretty awesome ideas. We’re here to help you get it! So take a look at what we've delivered for some happy clients, and remember that everything is completely customizable.

If you like something you see, but want a different size, style, design, color, attitude - you name it, I can do it. My work is like a snowflake - no two are the same! So drop me a line, and also check out instagram and facebook for even more updates!
